Dylan's Carrion Crown
A half-orc wizard
Tshamek. From the day he was discovered on the cold wind swept rock in the middle of the Belkzen wilderness at but one year of age, he was always Tshamek, “outsider”.
Why the old Shoanti Shaman, worshiper of Gorum, proud member of the Sklar-Quah (Sun Clan) didn’t bash his brains in as would any member of the people who found a orc child, or even one of orcish descent, is unclear. The Shaman would always mumble something about his strength, not crying in the wind as being the reason, by he never was sure it was the truth. The Shaman trained him as best he could, but the divine arts never sparked in the youth.
It was much later on his naming day, that he earned a new name, Belor “Star Gazer”, but even then he was still Tshamek to most of the tribe. It wasn’t after the ceremony that he met the special guest, a traveling outsider, one respected by the clan (unheard of). This man took Belor under his wing and began showing him the ways of learned magic, arcane arts that were scarce in the wilds of Belkzen.
Belor never forgot the man and left when he did at the end of the month. He had learned more in 3 weeks than he had his whole time studying with the Shaman. Belor did not traveling with the man, but they parted ways and he went to the south, to learn and study what he could not find at home. Magic.
It wasn’t until just recently he discovered he must have made some impression on his savior, for he found himself traveling north to bury the man who gave him his gift of freedom, his gift of power. Magic.
